Psalm 12:5, "Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says the LORD. "I will protect them from those who malign them."

Psalm 82:3, "Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed."

Proverbs 14:21, "Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in times of trouble.

Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr

Martin Luther King Jr. surprised and captured the attention of a nation
during the civil rights movement with his creed of non-violent resistance.
As King emerged as a leader in the movement, he put his belief into action
and proved that this was an effective method to combat racial segregation.

Gods Call To Social Justice

I believe that like Isaiah 9:1-8 when you encounter pain in yoru life like the year Isaiah's homie Uziah died. He had to feel that pain and go through that experience to see the Lord high and lifted up. Its only when we become totally effaced of self that we can see the Lord.
